The project of the Boulevard of the Railroad was born, when the City Council and the Savings Banks that make up the Consortium decided to start negotiations to build a boulevard on what were then the train tracks. The next step was to hire the prestigious Swiss architectural team Herzog & de Meuron, who made a design that would represent a historic transformation for the city. Until that moment Burgos was divided by the tracks. Throughout the city there were 12 level crossings through which 110 trains passed daily for their 11km of urban layout.
The Swiss studio was inspired by the use that space had so far had and traced a green line over the old roads where nature and urbanism coexisted, creating a landscape that would cross the city. The company Etralux won the contest for the signaling of that project.
Etralux in its experience and knowledge of the sector inclined to install the Vanguard traffic light body that was the one that best fit the whole idea of the project due to its current design and low maintenance.
